  1. Loosen nut on negative pole terminal on battery.

    IMPORTANT Do not remove negative pole terminal!

  2. Prepare multimeter (2) for test using "electrical connection set".
  3. Connect positive (+) test cable to battery ground point (W10).
  4. Switch on multimeter (amps DC).
  5. Carefully pull negative pole terminal on battery up and simultaneously connect negative (-) test cable below the pole terminal on the negative pole (3).

    IMPORTANT Do not interrupt circuit when pulling the negative pole terminal upward, because this would erase any faults stored. Completely remove the negative pole terminal only after the multimeter test lead is firmly connected to the negative pole.

  6. Route multimeter (2) with test cable (6) to right out of trunk or cargo area.
  7. Close trunk lid or tailgate.
