Removing and installing electric steering column adjustment (ESC) - AR46.10-P-0910A

	Removing, installing
Installation	Replace self-locking bolts and nuts
1	Remove steering wheel		AR46.10-P-0100B
2	Remove instrument cluster		AR54.30-P-6015EA
3	Remove cover under instrument panel		AR68.10-P-1500F
4	Lower jacket tube to the full extent and move out; to do this, operate switch in the front door
5	Unscrew jacket tube trim (99)
6	Detach reinforcement brace (98)		*BA46.10-P-1003-03D
		Installation:  Vehicles as of 01.12.98: ↓ Position jacket tube and attach reinforcement brace.

7	Remove jacket tube fastenings	Installation:  First fit all bolts and nuts. Vehicles up to 30.11.98: ↓ Tighten the lower nuts (arrows) first.
		Lower nuts (arrows), electric jacket tube to body.	*BA46.10-P-1019-03D
		Upper bolts (91a), jacket tube to body. Vehicles as of 01.12.98: ↓ Tighten the upper bolts (91a) first.	*BA46.10-P-1002-03D
		Upper bolts (91a), jacket tube to body.	*BA46.10-P-1002-03D
		Lower bolt, jacket tube to body.	*BA46.10-P-1001-03D
8	Unscrew nut (37n) from fixing bolt (37m)		*BA46.10-P-1020-03D
9	Turn electronic ignition key to position "1" and remove fixing bolt (37m) upwards	The fixing bolt can only be removed when the electronic steering lock is unlocked.
10	Remove electronic steering lock (N26/5) from jacket tube
11	Disconnect plug connector (37p)
12	Install in the reverse sequence

Jacket tube
