If the steering wheel is turned to the right, the drive pinion is supported on the rack. The rotary slide (4k) is turned against the control bush (4i) surrounding it via the torsion bar (4a) and thus changes the relative position of the control grooves. The pressure oil flow now reaches the right power cylinder chamber (II) and causes the rack to move axially to the left. The oil is forced out of the left depressurized power cylinder chamber (I).
It flows back into the reservoir of the power steering pump via the open return flow grooves of the control bush.
