Function sequence

The required adjustment of the exterior rearview mirrors is transmitted as a CAN message from the lower control field control module (N72) to the corresponding door control module (N69/1, N69/2). The door control module (N69/1, N69/2) actuates the respective exterior rearview mirror motor via a direct line.

The voltage-coded memory signal from the driver-side power seat switch (memory) (S91/2) is read into the front driver-side door control module (N69/1). The front driver-side door control module (N69/1) actuates the driver-side outside rearview mirror (M21/6) directly and in parallel transmits a CAN message to the front passenger-side door control module (N69/2). The front passenger-side door control module (N69/2) actuates the passenger-side outside mirror (M21/7) directly.

When reverse gear is engaged a signal is sent from the backup lamp switch (S16/2) to the lower control field control module (N72). The lower control field control module (N72) transmits a CAN message "Reverse gear engaged" to the front passenger-side door control module (N69/2) which moves the passenger-side outside mirror to the stored park position.

IMPORTANT

The park position function is only activated when the left/right outside mirror switch-over switch position (N72s8) is pressed.

The park position function can be deactivated using the HHT.
