Special functions 

• "Key in" check 

  If a key is present in the electronic ignition lock, all key button functions are locked out.

• Relocking with central locking feature 

  The vehicle is relocked by the DAS control module to avoid undesired unlocking. This is accomplished after unlocking with the remote control when:

  • A door is not opened within 40 s
  • The key is not inserted into the ignition lock
  • The CL interior switch is not actuated
  • Following "universal unlocking" when only the trunk was opened
  • Following "selective unlocking" when the trunk lid was opened with the trunk lid remote unlocking feature

  This is not indicated by the turn signals. The ATA is also switched on with the relocking function.

• Automatic locking with central locking feature 

  Automatic locking is accomplished when a speed of 3-5 km/h is reached in forward or reverse. The doors and trunk are locked, the tank flap remains unlocked. If the vehicle is unlocked with the CL interior switch following automatic locking, this state is maintained until

  • A door is opened
  • Terminal 15 OFF

  Then the vehicle is locked automatically upon reaching the set speed again. The logic for this function is integrated into the pneumatic system equipment control module (PSE). The function can be deactivated or activated with:

  • HHT
  • CL interior switch with ignition switched on by Pressing > 5 s in direction

    Lock: function switched on

    Unlock: function switched off

• Emergency opening with central locking feature 

  Following an accident the vehicle is unlocked automatically with the central locking feature by means of a crash sensor integrated into the PSE.

  Unlocking is accomplished with a delay of 8-11s whereby only the doors are unlocked. The actuation threshold for the sensor is 6 g along all vehicle axes.

  The emergency opening feature interrupts all of the functions performed by the PSE, which will be active again only after interrupting the ignition.

  The emergency unlocking function is only effective when the vehicle was unlocked from outside.
