Function 

Convenience opening 

If the front driver-side door control module (N69/1) or front passenger-side door control module (N69/2) receives IR pulses following a valid "open" signal from the electronic ignition switch control module (N73), convenience opening is accomplished as long as the remote control is actuated.

Convenience closing 

If the front driver-side door control module (N69/1) or front passenger-If the front driver-side door control module (N69/1) or front passenger-side door control module (N69/2) receives IR pulses following a valid "close" signal from the electronic ignition switch control module (N73), convenience closing is accomplished as long as the remote control is actuated.

The convenience feature can be actuated only with the infrared signal.

Function sequence 

The actuated receiver unit (A26/1, A26/2) in the door sends a signal to the corresponding door control module (N69/1, N69/2). The door control module (N69/1, N69/2) transfers a CAN message to the electronic ignition switch control module (N73). The electronic ignition switch control module (N73) checks the coded signal and, if valid, sends a CAN message "release granted" to the door control module (N69/1, N69/2). If the control module (N69/1, N69/2) receives a CAN message in parallel to the previous message from the PSE control module (combined) (A37) "doors closed" the control module (N69/1, N69/2) switches on the associated power window motor directly and simultaneously sends a CAN message to the other door control modules as well as to the overhead control panel control module (N70) to "open or close". The sliding/pop-up roof and power window motors are controlled directly by the associated control module.
