Position determination, digital data bus (D2B) - AD82.00-P-2000-01A
The number of components in the D2B ring must be known for position determination. This can take place via interrogating the D2B components in the D2B ring using the Star diagnosis/Hand-Held Tester.
The following procedure must be adhered to for position determination:
- Read out fault memory
- Message in fault memory: No data can be transferred between the radio (or COMAND) and control module in position 3.
- The CD changer (A2.6) is located at position 3 in the D2B ring. The fault may therefore be in the CD changer itself (receiver unit in CD changer) or in the optical fiber to the CD changer.
The metering for position determination in diagnosis takes place counter-clockwise (arrows), against the direction of flow of information when the D2B ring is intact.
