Wiper system, general - GF82.30-P-9611-01C

Function 

The individual wiper speeds are controlled by the combination switch (S4).

Function sequence 

The desired wiper speed is transferred from the combination switch (S4) as a voltage coded signal to the electronic ignition switch control module (N73). The electronic ignition switch control module (N73) transfers a CAN message to the signal acquisition and actuation module (SAM), (N10/1). The signal acquisition and actuation module (SAM), (N10/1) switches on the wiper motor (M6/1).

The electronic ignition switch (N73) sends a CAN message to the signal acquisition and actuation module (SAM) (N10/1) for the speed dependent wiper speed circuit. The signal acquisition and actuation module (SAM) (N10/1) controls the wiper motor (M6/1) accordingly.

Vehicles with rain sensor 

When the combination switch (S4) is switched to the interval position a voltage-coded signal is transmitted to the electronic ignition switch control module (N73). The electronic ignition switch control module (N73) transfers a CAN message "interval ON" to the signal acquisition and actuation module (SAM), (N10/1). This module transfers the CAN message to the overhead control panel control module (N70) which sends a request to the rain sensor (B38) via a data bus. The rain sensor (B38) recognizes when the window is moist and transfers a signal to the overhead control panel control module (N70). The overhead control panel control module (N70) sends a CAN message "wiper ON" to the signal acquisition and actuation module (SAM), (N10/1), which switches on the wiper motor (M6/1).
