Reverse gear recognition, function - GF82.30-P-4005A

The lower control panel control module (N72)  recognizes when the transmission is shifted into reverse by a switch on the shift lever or on the selector lever for automatic transmission. The switch contact for reverse gear recognition is closed when the transmission is shifted into reverse. The lower control panel control module (N72)  transmits this information on the CAN bus.
