Function prerequisites:  Circuit 15 switched on.

The headlamp cleaning system is activated by switch (S4/1), which switches a ground signal to the signal acquisition and actuation module when pressed. The driver-side signal acquisition and actuation module (N10/1) then actuates the HCS pump relay (K40/2k5) for approx. 1 s switching on the headlamp washer pump (M5/2). The pump builds up pressure in the washing water line. The telescopic nozzles extend and spray water on the headlamp lenses. As the pressure decreases the telescopic nozzles return to the retracted position. Pressing the switch (S4/1) continuously or repeatedly while the headlamp cleaning system is in operation does not start another washing operation.
