Commissioning
Switch on APS on the radio and navigation operating unit (APS) (A2/29) (APS navigation CD must be inserted). Navigation is activated by pressing the "NAV" key on the operating unit.
Destination input
Select the "enter destination" menu item with the cursor keys and press the rotary volume knob. Enter the destination following the menu.
Calculating the route and route guidance
Calculating the route starts when the "Start route guidance" menu item is confirmed by pressing the rotary volume knob. Route guidance starts when the calculation is finished.
Route list
Press the "Arrow downwards" key when the vehicle is stationary. The route list is displayed.
Start diagnosis/initial commissioning
Press the "AM" and "4" keys simultaneously within 20 seconds of switching on.
The entry menu of the installation and calibration program appears on the radio and navigation operating unit APS (A2/29) display.
Software information
Press the "INFO" and "6" keys simultaneously, hold down and switch on the radio and navigation operating unit APS (A2/29) . The display with the current software version appears.
Bose Sound-System setting
Press the "RDS" and "5" keys simultaneously, hold down and switch on the radio and navigation operating unit APS (A2/29) . The menu for setting the Bose Sound-Sound system is displayed.
Special functions
Press the "NAV" key for more than 3 seconds. A menu with the following entries appears:
→ GPS DATA
Current vehicle position in degrees of longitude and latitude.
→ LOCATION INPUT
If the APS system is unable to automatically determine the starting location using the GPS data, the location must be entered by the user.
→ SELECTING LANGUAGE
The language of the menu and the audio response can be changed between German and English. If the language is changed the language is reloaded automatically, which may take up to 30 minutes.
To exit the menu, press the "NAV" key again.
Pressing the "FM-T" and "AM" keys simultaneously:
→ DISPLAY CONTRAST
→ LOADING LANGUAGE
After undervoltage, disconnecting the battery or changing the CDROM, the audio response may be incomplete or distorted. In these cases the language must be reloaded from the CD-ROM into the voice RAM of the navigation computer, which can take up to 30 minutes.
→ CALIBRATION (calibrating electronic compass (B26)).The electronic compass (B26) must be recalibrated if the electronic compass (B26) is influenced by disturbing magnetic fields (e.g fitting loudspeakers, welding work on the body).
Exit the menu by switching off/on.
The last audio response is repeated and the actual distance from the destination is displayed by pressing the "INFO" key. Pressing the rotary volume knob only repeats the last audio response.
