Function prerequisite

Function sequence

The voltage coded signals from the steering column up/down switch and steering column in/out switch (S91/2s11, S92/2s12) are read into the front driver-side door control module (N96/1) which converts the signals into a CAN message and transfers them to the driver-side ESA (with memory) control module (N32/1).

The driver-side ESA (with memory) control module (N32/1) actuates the appropriate motors for steering column adjustment (M20m1, M20m2).

Function

The steering column can be moved to the desired position by actuating the steering column up/down and steering column in/out switches (S91/2s11, S92/2s12).

The memory keys allow 3 positions to be stored and recalled.
