Components and functions can be checked using the operator controlled test program. Only the display masks for entry are listed in the following table.

Preparations for testing with APS test program

Switch on APS (refer to Owner's Manual).
To check the navigation: Press "AM" and "4" key simultaneously within 20 seconds of switching on. The entry menu of the installation and calibration program now appears on the radio and navigation operating unit (APS) (A2/29) display.

Menu operation of APS test program

Select menu item: Press cursor key (1) corresponding to the direction of the arrow.
Confirm menu item: Press rotary volume knob (2).
Select previous menu page (return):
Press RET key (3).

000	INSTALLATION AND CALIBRATING PROGRAM FOR APS PLANT SW CUSTOMER SERVICE SW	When replacing the navigation processor (APS) (A2/30) , call up and work through the "PLANT SW". Then call up "CUSTOMER SERVICE SW" and also work through. Maintain sequence of operation.
001	SWITCH OFF REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER	In order to rule out interference effects of the rear window defroster element on the electronic compass (B26).
100	PLEASE SELECT COMMISSIONING WHEEL RECALIBRATION SYSTEM CHECK START NAVIGATION	Select menu item Carry out for initial commissioning. Carry out after changing tires or with special tires/rims. If there are complaints: Carry out a complete "SYSTEM CHECK" Finishes diagnosis and starts navigation.
