Removing and installing front door lock - AR72.10-P-4011E

MODIFICATION NOTES

21.4.95 Grease guide rail and sliding jaws Steps no. 22 and 28  
REMOVING Removing     
1 Remove window crank   AR72.10-P-1100GV 
2 Remove door liner on front door   AR72.10-P-1000E 
3 Remove exterior door handle on front door   AR72.10-P-2400E 
4 Remove hinge strap    
5 Pull foil off of inner door panel    
6 Remove crank window from front door IMPORTANT Partially remove crank window; move only out of sliding jaws AR72.10-P-1900E 
7 Install crank window in window guide rail and slide upward SPECIAL TOOL
NOTES Secure against falling down with assembly wedge.		 Figure
8 Unclip linkage (1) from clip (2) and unhook from door lock    
9 Open retainer (3) and remove retaining rod (4)    
10 Press IRCL line (5) off of door lock IRCL element    
11 Remove lock switch (6) from lock housing For this purpose press catch lug (arrow) behind lock switch (6) toward outside  
12 Drill out or cut out pop rivets (8) IMPORTANT For drilling out: 4.8 mm ø dia. bit For cutting out: Spherical cutter ø 12 mm  
13 Remove guide rail (9) through installation opening    
14 Unscrew bolts (11)    
15 Unclip lock cover on door lock and inner door panel and remove    
16 Unscrew screws (13)    
17 Remove door lock (14) through installation opening IMPORTANT Disconnect electrical connector from CL element on vehicles with anti-theft alarm system.  
INSTALLING Installing     
18 Insert door lock through installation opening IMPORTANT Connect electrical connector from CL element on vehicles with anti-theft alarm system.  
19 Screw in screws (13) and tighten TORQUE SPECIFICATION
IMPORTANT When installing tighten front screws first.		 *BA72.10-P-1006-01A 
20 Insert lock cover on door lock and inner door panel    
21 Install screws (11) for lock cover    
22 Insert guide rail (9) through installation opening IMPORTANT Grease sliding jaws and guide rail with multi-purpose paste. *BR00.45-Z-1009-06A 
23 Fasten guide rail (9) to inner door panel with 4.8 mm pop rivets (8)    
24 Install lock switch (6) on lock housing (7)    
25 Connect central locking line (5) to central locking element on door lock    
26 Install retaining rod (4) on door lock and close retainer (3)    
27 Hook linkage (1) into door lock and clip in on clip (2)    
28 Push crank window down, insert into sliding jaws and screw in screw on sliding jaw NOTES Grease sliding jaws and guide rail with multi-purpose paste. *BR00.45-Z-1009-06A 
29 Adjust front door crank window   AR72.10-P-1950E 
30 Install hinge plate    
31 Install exterior door handle on front door IMPORTANT Always adjust poppet clearance. AR72.10-P-2400E 
32 Carry out function check    
33 Glue foil to inner door panel    
34 Install door liner on front door   AR72.10-P-1000E 
35 Install window crank   AR72.10-P-1100GV 
TORQUE SPECIFICATION FRONT DOOR
