Notes on setting shift point in selector lever position "D" ETC - AD27.19-P-2000-15A
Transmission 722.6 in models 129, 140, 170, 202, 208, 210
Upshift, downshift with selector program
- Program selector lever position "S": Transmission starts in 1st gear and coasts in 1st gear.
- Program selector lever position "W": Transmission starts in 2nd gear and coasts in 2nd gear. 1st gear can be achieved with full throttle.
(Attention: during the engine warm-up phase the transmission starts in 1st gear and coasts in 2nd gear)
- Shifting points are set higher when driving up or down hill, for heavy loaded vehicles and extremely high transmission oil temperatures as well as during the program selector lever position "S" even when the accelerator pedal is released quickly or when driving in a sporting manner.
- If the accelerator is released quickly the upshift into the next higher gear is prevented and only permitted during a low vehicle's lateral acceleration and appropriate driving style. This serves to prevent the vehicle from breaking away in corners.
- If the accelerator is pressed quickly the downshift will occur at a higher speed.
- The shift point can be reduced if the transmission oil temperature is < 40°C.
