Checking torque converter - AR27.20-P-0500-03A

Test values of torque converter

Number Designation Transmission 722.5
BE27.20-P-1001-01A Overall height of torque converter Torque converter dia. mm 270
in new condition mm 120.7
Maximum height in the case of repair mm 121.5

NOTES

Excessive engine speeds which cause overspeed damage to the engine, can also result in permanent widening of the torque converter. This then fouls the primary pump and damages its radial seal ring.

IMPORTANT

If it is necessary to replace the torque converter, the primary pump radial seal ring should also be replaced.

  1. Place torque converter with the primary pump drive flange downwards on a measuring plate (05).
  2. Measure dimension "A". If the dimension "A" is greater than the maximum value, replace the torque converter.

    IMPORTANT

The overall height of the torque converter must be measured each time the engine is damaged due to overspeed.
