Checking vehicle level at front and rear axles - AR40.20-P-0300C

  Checking     
1 Observe general information on chassis alignment. IMPORTANT Following repair work forcefully move vehicle up and down several times before measuring. AR40.20-P-0201A 
2 Check vehicle level at the front axle.  SPECIAL TOOL Insert measuring device (01) between the retaining bolts of the wishbone bearing. Fig 3
    Position contact arm of measuring device (01) on transverse control arm and read off vehicle level value measured from center of vehicle. *BE40.20-P-1001-02D 
3 Check vehicle level at the rear axle  . SPECIAL TOOL Place the swivel arm of the measuring device (02) on the inside of the spring control arm. Fig 4
    Position contact arm on the rear axle shaft and read off the plumb value of vehicle level, viewed from the center of the vehicle. *BE40.20-P-1001-03D 
IMPORTANT   Vehicle level at front or rear axle outside tolerance↓.  
    Adjust vehicle level by changing the springs or spring rubber mounts. AR40.20-P-0300-01B 
   
  1. Check function of level control.
  2. If OK, adjust the vehicle level by changing the spring or spring rubber mount.
 
NOTES   On vehicles with level control  a vehicle level too low should not  be corrected by changing the level control connection rod (control point).
