Prerequisites for testing alternator - AR15.40-P-5009F

ENGINE 104.945/995,111.942/947/970,112.911/914/921/941,113.940,119.985,602.982, 604.912/917, 605.912 /962, 606.912 /962, 611.961, 612.961, 613.961 in MODEL 210

REMOVINGINSTALLING Removing, installing     
1.1 Remove rear seat Model 210 sedan. AR91.12-P-1700F
1.2 Fold rear seat cushion forwards and remove battery compartment cover Model 210 T-model.  
REFER TO COMPONENT MODIFICATIONS Testing     
2 Check the alternator fuse (G2) in the connector terminal 30 (X12/3) and replace if necessary IMPORTANT Only in vehicles as of 6.99 (except with engines 112, 113)
Replace:  The entire connector terminal 30 (X12/3) must be replaced.
 
3 Check electrical line terminal 30 to the following items for firm seat and flawless condition
  • Battery (G1/+)
  • Connector terminal 30 (X4)
  • Connector terminal 30 (X12/3)
  • Alternator (G2/B+)
 
4 Check electrical line terminal 31 to the following items for firm seat and flawless condition
  • Battery (G1/-)
  • Battery ground (W10)
  • Ground strap between engine and body
 
5 Check ribbed V-belt tension    
6 Check function of the charge indicator lamp in the instrument cluster   *BE54.30-P-1001-01A 
7 Install in the reverse order
