- Chamfer cylinder bores after drilling or face-grinding with a suitable tool (e.g. hand chamfer) according to the drawing.
- Equalize bottom edge of chamfer with a burnishing stone.

- If the cylinder wall has been machined, additionally chamfer bottom cylinder runout
