Removal & Installation

  1. Remove rear axle shaft. See AXLE SHAFTS. Remove brake caliper, and wire aside. Remove brake rotor. Press axle shaft flange from wheel carrier. Remove snap ring retaining wheel bearing from wheel carrier hub. See Fig 1 . Press bearing from wheel carrier hub.
  2. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten all bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS. Check axle shaft flange runout. Maximum allowable axle shaft flange runout is .001" (.03 mm).
