Except E420 & Vehicles Without Electronic Stability Program ESP) (Except SLK230)

  1. If vehicle is equipped with Acceleration Slip Regulation (ASR), turn ignition off. Remove cover on hydraulic unit. On all vehicles, remove cap from brake fluid reservoir.
  2. Connect pressure bleeding equipment according to equipment manufacturer's instructions and pressurize system to 29 psi (2 kg/cm2 ). Connect Hand-Held Tester (WE58.40-P-1001-06A) to data link connector. Caliper bleeding sequence is RR, LR, RF and LF. Bleed approximately 1/10th of a quart of brake fluid from each brake caliper.
  3. Enter brake bleeding procedure on hand-held tester and following instructions on tester display. After completing bleeding procedure, brake fluid MUST flow through the return line into brake fluid reservoir without foam or bubbles.
  4. If foam or bubble are present, repeat bleeding procedure after waiting for 2 minutes. If necessary, check connections and repair as necessary. Disconnect pressure bleeding equipment. Fill brake fluid reservoir to proper level.
