Removal & Installation
- Raise vehicle and support. Remove wheels. Remove cover for brake pad wear indicator sensor connector. Disconnect brake pad wear indicator sensor connector (if equipped). DO NOT pull on sensor cable.
- Using a wrench, counter-hold sliding pin while loosening hex head bolt on bottom of caliper. Swing brake caliper upward and secure with wire. Remove brake pads with brake pad wear indicator sensor. See Fig 1. Remove brake pad wear indicator sensor from brake pad.
- To install, reverse removal procedure. Replace self-locking caliper bolts. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Replace brake pad wear indicator sensor if insulation layer on contact plate is worn through or if sensor or wiring are damaged. Before installing new pads, press pistons into caliper. Ensure brake pad wear indicator sensor wire is coiled before connecting vehicle harness and installing cover. Before driving, pump brake pedal slowly until brake pads contact rotors.
