- Fasten rabbet (057) to support the right and left contact arm on the rear axle housing.
- Mount contact arm (059) for spreader dimension measurement with dial indicator from below onto stops (057).
Set dial indicator to "0 " with 3 mm pre-tension.
- Turn in all hexagon bolts (27a) on the side bearing caps and tighten to the specified tightening torque.
- Re-measure spread (expansion) of rear axle housing using contact arm (059).
If the spread dimension does not match the specified value, note down this value.
- Remove contact arm (059).
