Rear Suspension & Axle: Installation

- To install, reverse removal procedure. Bleed brake system and adjust parking brake. Fill differential with 1.2 qts. (1.1L) 90 SAE hypoid gear oil. Reconnect drive shaft coupling to differential flange.
- Temporarily snug drive shaft intermediate bearing bracket bolts to frame floor. Tighten drive shaft clamping lock nut to 22-30 ft. lbs. (30-40 N.m). Tighten drive shaft intermediate bearing bracket-to-frame bolts to 18 ft. lbs. (25 N.m).
- Reinstall shielding and exhaust system. Ensure all electrical connections are reconnected. If vehicle is equipped with Adaptive Damping Suspension (ADS), self-leveling suspension or automatic locking differential (ASD), refill hydraulic system(s). See HYDRAULIC SYSTEM REFILL.
