Assembling stepped tandem brake master cylinder - AR42.10-P-0315-02A

Repair kits and housing from different manufacturers can be used as an alternative.
- Separate packing sleeves (040) from sleeve (041).
- Remove secondary sealing pack and piston for the primary brake circuit from the sleeve (041).
- Clamp housing (22) inclined slightly, with the bore downwards.
- Coat the bore of the housing (22) slightly with brake fluid.
- Insert packing sleeve (040) in the bore and, using a screwdriver, push in the secondary piston (20) as far as the stop.
Ensure that when installing the secondary piston (20) the guide slot (arrow) is vertical.
- Insert parallel pin and pull out packing sleeve (040).
- Clamp tandem master brake cylinder so that the bore points upwards.
- Insert secondary sealing pack in the housing (22) and press downwards using a drift.
- Hold piston (7), insert stop plate (8) and fit circlip (5).
Ensure that the circlip (5) seats correctly in the groove of the housing (22).
- Coat the container plug (9) lightly with brake fluid and press into the housing (22).
- First insert the brake fluid reservoir (10) into the housing (22) with one pipe socket (22), turn through 180° and then press the second pipe socket into the housing (22).
