| Ground cable at battery | disconnect, connect. |
| Vacuum line for brake booster | unscrew, screw on. |
| Crankcase ventilation hose | detach, fit on. |
| Vacuum lines of components located at intake manifold | pull off, fit on. |
| Knock sensors cable holder | at front of intake manifold, unscrew, screw on. |
| Fuel supply and return lines | unscrew, screw on. |
| Bowden cable | at accelerator control lever, detach, attach (30-3402). |
| Automatic transmission Detach, attach control pressure Bowden cable. |

| Plug connection | at hot wire air mass sensor, detach, fit on. Slacken knurled nut. |
| Electronic accelerator actuator plug connection | detach, fit on. |
| Dipstick | remove, install. |
| Bolt (15) | unscrew from below, screw in. |
| Bolts (16) | unscrew, screw in. |
| Tightening torque 25 Nm as reference value. | |
| Intake manifold (19) | take off, clean and fit on. Check flange faces with straightedge; dress on finishing plate if necessary. |
| Intake manifold gasket (18) | renew. |
| Leak tightness of all connections | examine with engine running. |
| Idling | check, set (Diagnosis Manual Engine Volume 1). |
| LH control unit fault memory | read out, erase if necessary (see Diagnosis Manual Engine, Volume 2, Register 0). |
