Removal and installation of engine hood cable - ra88001400310x(0310)

| Engine hood | open and lock in the vertical position. |
| Cover (1) over cable duct (2) on left of engine compartment | open and remove. |
| Lid (3) over fuse box (4) | open and remove. |
| Screws on carrier block (5) for fuses | unscrew and remove carrier block (5). |
| Panelling on side footwell | remove. |
| Screw (6) on handle (7) | unscrew and remove handle (7) out of lock in A-pillar. |
| Engine hood control cable (8) | unhook at handle (7) and lay handle aside (7). |
| Cord or wire on nipple of inner engine hood control cable (8) | bind and pull out engine hood control cable toward front, whilst guiding cord or wire. |
| Cord or wire on engine hood control cable (8) | slacken. |
| Bolts (9 and 10) on left and right of engine hood lock | unscrew. |
| Bolts (13 and 14) on radiator cross member (15) | unscrew. |
| Radiator cross member (15) | remove. |
| Engine hood control cable (8) | unclip at clip (16). |
| Engine hood lock (11 and 12) | remove upward and unhook engine hood control cable (8). |
| Engine hood control cable (8) | remove. |
| Reinstall | in opposite order, whilst inserting control cable grommet (17) at fuse box (4, arrow) and ensuring careful routing of engine hood control cable! |
| Engine hood lock (11 and 12) | grease with MB lubricant paste part number, 000 989 31 51. |
