Removing and installing mount with motor and gear unit - ra77001400180x(0180)

A. Removable control cable, B. Non removable control cable Model 140 

Preliminary work:

Control cable removed (77-140)

Panelling in trunk, left, removed

A. Control cable can be removed

Screws (Fig 1) unscrew and disconnect plug connection.
Tube and exit tube (Fig 1) unclip from gear unit.
Mount remove together with motor and gear unit.
Reinstall in opposite order.
IMPORTANT When clipping in the two tubes ensure that the bead on the tube is pushed into the groove on the gearbox.
Control cable adjust (77-140).
Slip clutch on tilting/sliding roof motor check and adjust (77-195).

B. Control cable cannot be removed

Plastic cap (Fig 2) press off.
Screws, hex. nut unscrew and pull off plug connection (Fig 2).
Mount with motor and gear unit turn, unscrew screws on gear unit cover and remove cover (Fig 2).
Gear unit cover (Fig 2) open, for this purpose unclip retaining clip for tube and remove gear.
Control cable pull out of tube toward front and unclip both tubes on gear unit.
Mount remove together with motor and gear unit.
Gear unit assemble.
IMPORTANT Clean gear unit housing and lubricate gear with MB-lubricant Paste, part no. 001 989 14 51.
Reinstall in opposite order.
IMPORTANT When clipping in the two tubes ensure that the bead on the tube is pushed into the groove on the gear unit.
Slip clutch adjust (77-195).
