Preliminary work:
Door liner on driver's door and rear door removed (Removal and installation of the lining on the driver's door and Removal and installation of the lining on the rear door )
| Vapor seal on interior door panel | pull off in front area. |
| Seal (1) above bolt (3) | pull off. |
| Retainer (2) on bolt (3) | remove. |
| Bolt (3) | remove with special tool, avoid damaging paint. |
| Plastic washer (4) | remove (2 each). |
| Screws (5 and 6) | screw out (3 each), when installing tighten front screw first (10 Nm). |
| Door retainer (7) | remove through installation opening in interior door panel, do not damage door. |
| Cover (8) | pull off of door retainer (7). |
| Door retainer (7) | lubricate by coating with MB-Lubricant Paste part no. 001 989 14 51, with brush before installing ball races. |
| Reinstall | in opposite order. |
| Vapor seal on interior door panel | glue on, replace vapor seal if damaged. |
