Removal and installation of seat belt and tensioner - ra91001400630x(0630)

REMOVAL

Seat adjust forward.
Floor mat in front passenger's foot space fold back.
Front passenger's foot rest unscrew and remove upwards.
Ignition key turn to "0" position.
Negative battery terminal disconnect.
Seat belt tensioner test connection (X11/7) disconnect.
Airbag plug connector for vehicles with airbag test coupling (X11/13) detach.
Front and rear entry rail remove.
Facing on center pillar remove.
2 screws (1) at bottom of center pillar facing unscrew.
Clips on center pillar facing (3) press in with screwdriver (arrow) and remove facing.
Screw (4) on seat belt bracket unscrew.
Nut (5) on seat belt guide bracket unscrew.
Screw (6) on seat belt automatic rewinder unscrew.
Plug connector on seat belt tensioner ignition capsule (R12/1, R12/2) as well as seat belt comfort facility detach.
Automatic seat belt rewinder press downwards and remove from center pillar.

Installation Note 

When installing the seat belt tensioner, pay attention to the different designs (left and right) and make sure that parts are correctly positioned in locks.

NOTE: Noises caused by the automatic rewinding device when the seat belt is being rewound are functional. In the event of complaint, excessive noises can only be prevented by replacing the seat belt. In no case may oil or grease be used to prevent noises. 

The automatic rewind device must not be dismantled as accidents may be caused by the pretensioned springs.  Automatic rewind devices which have been opened are no longer covered by the terms of the guarantee.

STANDARD TESTING DEVICE

Multimeter e.g. Sun, DMM-5 or Avometer 2003 Fluke 23

After installation of the seat belt tensioner, the system (seat belt tensioner and/or airbag with seat belt tensioner) must be tested.

Attach test cable and socket box in accordance with the connection diagram for this purpose.

Measure resistances according to table.
