Pressing off/in radial seal at side of rear axle housing - AR35.31-P-0540-05C

REFER TO COMPONENT MODIFICATIONS Radial seal on side of rear axle housing and connecting flange modified As of 01.04.98 BB00.40-P-0235-07A
  Only model 202.085 with transmission 722 and rear axle center assembly diameter 185, 202.134/194 except CODE (450) taxi version, 210.007 with rear axle center assembly diameter 185 BT35.31-P-0013-01A

Pressing off 

IMPORTANT Rear axle center assembly without side bearing cover.

  1. Press radial seal (32a) out of housing using a suitable screwdriver.

    198 mm dia. rear axle center assembly in assembly stand shown

  2. Pressing in 

  3. IMPORTANT 2 Coat the lip of the new radial sealing ring (32a) with universal hypoid gear oil.
  4. Push in radial seal ring (32a) SPECIAL TOOL using drift (032c).

    Shows rear axle center assembly 198 mm ø
