Pressing off
- For pressing off use the two shop-made shell halves (063a) and the
drift (063).
- Clean constant velocity joints.
- Press constant velocity joint with knurling onto rear axle shaft so that the knurling (arrow) on the circumference of the joint ring points in the direction of the rear axle shaft.
Press constant velocity joint onto rear axle shaft so that the turned groove (arrow) points in the direction of the rear axle shaft.
Select clamping jaws for rear axle shaft dia. 25 mm, dia. 27 mm or dia. 34 mm.
Use
116 589 11 31 00 for rear axle shaft dia. 27 mm.
Use
220 589 02 31 00 for rear axle shaft dia. 34 mm.
No special tool is used for rear axle shaft dia. 25 mm.
- Fit clamping jaws on boot collar of rear axle shaft and press constant velocity joint onto rear axle shaft up to contact surface using
drift (arrow).
