Notes on repairs to brake system - AH42.00-U-0003-01A

All models 

  1. Replace Tandem/master cylinder and brake fluid reservoir.
  2. Thoroughly flush entire brake system using new fresh brake fluid.
  3. Any brake component with rubber parts such as brake calipers, brake hoses, ABS-, ETS-, ASR- or ESP- hydraulic unit, pressure reservoir, high-pressure/return pump and charging pump must be replaced.
  4. Bleed brake system.

When based on the severity of the damage on the vehicle or the impact position and exterior appearance of the hydraulic unit after an accident, (if it is recognizable), it appears that the hydraulic unit has received a severe impact, then it should be replaced.

If this is not the case, a thorough function test of the entire  brake system should be performed regardless, as well as all  the test steps pertaining to the solenoid valves and pump.
