Engines 601, 602, 603 with ERG A. With position sensor (governor impulse method), B. With digital tester (governor impulse method)

Before performing work with engine running, apply parking brake.

On vehicles with automatic transmission shift transmission to position "P".

Air cleaner cover (10)	remove, install (except engine 602.96, 603.96/97).
Plug (arrow)	on governor housing (2), screw out, screw in, tightening torque 30-35 Nm (guide value).
Position sensor (007)	screw out, screw in.
Battery terminal (009)	Position sensor 617 589 08 21 00 connect to battery +, disconnect.
Crankshaft	turn by hand until lamps A and B on tester (008) come on simultaneously.
RI value (indirect start of delivery)	Socket wrench, 27 mm, 001 589 65 09 00 read off on degree disc, see table for specified value. If necessary adjust start of delivery as separate order (see 0761).

Air cleaner cover (10)	remove, install (except engine 602.96, 603.96/97).
Plug (arrow)	on governor housing (2), screw out, screw in, tightening torque 30-35 Nm (guide value).
Test equipment	connect according to connection schematic, disconnect: TDC sensor 601 589 04 21 00 or 603 589 00 21 00 RI sensor 617 589 10 21 00 RI adapter 617 589 09 21 00
RI value (indirect start of delivery)	read off on digital tester (001) at idle speed, see table for specified value. If necessary adjust start of delivery as special order (see 0761).
Leakage	check with engine running.
