Dismantling, assembling and carrying out basic adjustment of brake band piston B1 - AR27.50-P-0780-10A

REFER TO COMPONENT MODIFICATIONS Self-adjusting brake band piston As of transmission end no. 3746852 (722.5) BT27.50-P-0002-01A 

Dismantling 

  1. Remove brake band piston from brake band piston cover (40).
  2. Press apart locking device (40a) in brake band piston cover (40) using locking ring pliers, removing the pin (37c).

    IMPORTANT

    The locking device remains in the brake band piston cover.

  3. Remove snap ring (37b) in brake band piston using a screwdriver and remove disc spring (37a).

    Assembling 

  4. Insert pin (37c) in brake band piston B1 (37).
  5. Slide Belleville spring washer (37a) over pin (37c) until the it abuts the brake band piston (37).
  6. Insert snap ring (37b).
  7. Press the assembled brake band piston B1 (37) into the brake band piston cover (40) until it locks in position audibly.
