Dismantling and assembling multiple-disc brake B2 - AR27.50-P-0880A: Notes

Modification notes

25.8.98 New special tool for clearance adjustment   AR27.50-P-0880-02A 
DISASSEMBLING Dismantling     
1 Remove snap ring (134a)    
2 Take multiple-disc pack B2 (134) and disc spring (134b) out of outer multiple-disc carrier B2 NOTES The outer multiple-disc carrier for the multi-disc brake B2 is the piston for the multiple-disc brake B3 at the same time.
Check multiple-discs for burnt spots and wear.		  
3 Place assembly device (074) on disc spring (29) and tension until the groove for the snap ring is exposed (figure C)  SPECIAL TOOL Figure
4 Remove snap ring (31)    
5 Remove spring plate (30) and disc spring (29)    
6 Separate piston guide ring (28) and piston/ multiple-disc brake B2 (27) from piston B3 (14a) by blowing compressed air into the bore (D) (figure E)  .    
7 Press piston guide ring (28) out of piston B2 (27)    
REFER TO COMPONENT MODIFICATIONS Peak-to-valley height on piston B2 modified Transmission 722.6 BT27.50-P-0009-01A 
REFER TO COMPONENT MODIFICATIONS Piston B2 modified Transmission 722.6 BT27.50-P-0010-01A 
8 Separate piston guide (32) from piston B3 (14a) by blowing compressed air into the bore (A) (figure E)  .    
DISASSEMBLING Assembling     
9 Assemble piston guide (32) and piston B3 (14a) in the correct position   AR27.50-P-0880-01A 
10 Insert piston/multiple-disc brake B2 (27) in piston B3 (14a) INSPECT Check all sealing rings, replace if necessary.
NOTES The rounded off edges on the sealing rings (14c), (28a) and (28b) must point outwards The rounded off edges on the sealing ring (14d) must point inwards (figure B) 		  
11 Insert piston guide ring (28) NOTES The valve (137) in the piston guide ring must be on top (figure D)   
12 Insert disc spring (29) and spring plate (30) NOTES Insert disc spring with the curvature towards the spring plate  
13 Place assembly device (074) on disc spring (29) and tension until the groove for the snap ring is exposed SPECIAL TOOL Figure
14 Insert snap ring (31)    
15 Insert disc spring (134b) and multiple-disc pack (134) in the outer multiple-disc carrier B2 and measure NOTES Observe outer multiple-disc sequence. AR27.50-P-0880-02A 
REFER TO BASIC KNOWLEDGE Survey of multiple-disc pack components, as-built Transmission 722.6 GF27.51-P-5200A 
16 Insert snap ring (134a)    
    IMPORTANT Follow up work ↓  
Remove, install multiple-disc brake B2 and multiple-disc pack B3 AR27.50-P-0781A
