Removing and installing air-to-oil cooler - RA18001201300X(18-1300)

Preceding work:

Bottom engine compartment panel removed

(Maint. Man. 6190).

Front bumper removed (REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION OF FRONT BUMPER ).

  1. Model 129

    Air scoop (4) at front take off, fit on.
    Oil lines (11) and (9) of air-to-oil cooler (2) unbolt, bolt on (30 Nm); brace with wrench (WAF 22) at hexagon head (14).
    Clips (5) out of left and right mounting brackets (8) take off, fit on
    Air-to-oil cooler (2) with rubber bushes (6) detach from mounting brackets (8), remove, install.
    Leaks
    NOTE: The oil circulates in the air-to-oil cooler (2) once the thermostat valve in the oil filter housing opens
    check when engine warm.

    Oil level check, adjust to correct level.

    Front bottom engine compartment panel (7) take off, fit on (Maintenance Manual 6190).
    Oil lines (9 and 11) of air-to-oil cooler (2) unbolt, bolt on (30 Nm); brace with wrench (WAF 27) at hexagon head (14).
    Bolts (5) unscrew, screw on.
    Bracket (4) with rubber bushes (6) pull off, fit on.
    Installation note 
    The retaining lug (arrow) on the bracket (4) must engage in the recess (arrow) at the mounting bracket (8).
    Air-to-oil cooler (2) at mounting brackets (8)
    take off, fit on.
    Leaks check when engine warm.
    NOTE: The oil circulates in the air-to-oil cooler (2) once the thermostat valve in the oil filter housing opens
    see function of oil filter (18-1000) .
    Oil level check, adjust to correct level.
