Risk of injury pinching or crushing - AR32.20-P-0200-01A

Use only approved tensioning devices; shield off hazard area if necessary. Inspect special tools for damage and proper operation (visual inspection). Wear protective gloves.

  1. SPECIAL TOOL Install fittings on top and bottom of spring.

    IMPORTANTSPECIAL TOOL Install the fittings as far out as possible to ensure that a maximum number of spring coils will be compressed (7 or 8 coils on front spring, 3 to 5 coils on rear spring).

  2. Turn recesses on the SPECIAL TOOL compressor fittings toward inside of vehicle.
  3. SPECIAL TOOL Insert tensioning device into the SPECIAL TOOL clamping plates and lock on the upper SPECIAL TOOL clamping plate.

    IMPORTANT The retaining lugs (arrow) must engage in the depression in the upper claiming plate. SPECIAL TOOL

  4. Compress the spring.

    NOTES Do not use an impact wrench to avoid damaging the thread.

  5. Use chalk to mark the position of the SPECIAL TOOL compressor fittings relative to the spring coil.
  6. Release the spring.

IMPORTANT Ensure correct seating of the rubber mount in the front end, and the spring coil outlet in the recess in the wishbone (arrow).

IMPORTANT The bore in the impression must be exposed after releasing.

To check the position of the spring scan using a wire of Ø 3 mm.
