      Disposal information

Always observe all applicable safety precautions when disposing of used pressure accumulators. To release the gas pressure, carefully drill into the arched side with a 3 mm bit until gas starts to emerge. Always wear safety glasses and gloves for protection against metal chips and emerging gas. Apply only minimal pressure while drilling, and do not allow the bit to penetrate any further into the bore hole (arrow) than absolutely necessary.

    Removal, installation

    Left pressure accumulator only

    1. Remove the exhaust pipe from its mountings on the floorpan, securing with a hook to prevent it from falling.

      Both accumulators

    2. Use line wrench to disconnect pressure lines (S1 and P4) at accumulator (4).
    3. Seal pressure lines and connections on accumulator with suitable plugs.

    Notes on scrapping

The relevant safety provisions are to be observed when scrapping accumulators.

In order to eliminate the basic pressure in the accumulator drill carefully on the convex side with a 3 mm drill bit until the gas flows out. To prevent accidents caused by the outliving gas and to protect against drilling chips, safety glasses and gloves must be worn. Apply minimal pressure, and do not allow the bit to penetrate any further into the bore hole (arrow) than absolutely necessary.
