Remove/install lamp unit - AR82.10-P-4730B

MODEL 129 with CODE (612) Xenon headlamp unit

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
DANGER Risk of death  caused by high voltage levels present at xenon headlamps.
Risk of explosion/fire hazard  through highly flammable material in the area of damaged xenon bulbs.
Risk of injury  through UV light, hot components on xenon headlamps and glass splinters when xenon bulbs burst.
Risk of poisoning  through inhalation of mercury vapor and swallowing of or skin contact with toxic salts and mercury compounds.
Do not come into contact with parts that are under high voltage. Persons with active electronic implants  (e.g. heart pacemakers) must never work on xenon headlamps. Switch off complete lighting system. Wear insulating safety shoes, safety glasses and protective gloves. Remove highly inflammable materials from the hazard area. Ensure that the workplace is sufficiently ventilated. AS82.10-Z-0001-01A 
1 Switch off ignition    
2 Open engine hood and move to vertical position    
3 Remove windscreen washer fluid reservoir (4) Only required for right lamp unit.  
4 Pull out expansion rivets (7) and remove cover (8).    
5 Pull out expansion rivets (17) and remove cover (18).    
6 Unclip turn signal light (E1e5, E2e5), pull out to front IMPORTANTInstallation  : The two pins (arrows) must be slid into the guide.  
7 Detach electrical connector (9)    
8.1 Remove windshield wiper arm (10). With headlamp cleaning system (code 600a).  
9.1 Detach hose (11) of headlamp cleaning system With headlamp cleaning system (code 600a).  
10 Detach electrical connectors (5, 6)    
11 Undo screws (12, 13) and carefully pull cover (14) forward IMPORTANT Cover remains on vehicle with sealing.  
12 Remove screws (15, 16)    
13 Detach purge control valve (Y58/1) On left lamp unit only.  
14 Undo cable ties (arrow) On right lamp unit only.  
15 Remove lower wheel house shielding On right lamp unit only.  
16 Release bumper on right side On right lamp unit only.  
17 Remove xenon headlamp control unit (E1n1, E2n1)    
18 Remove lamp unit (E1, E2) with xenon headlamp control unit (E1n1, E2n1) to front NOTES Cover bumper with rags to prevent any scratches and gashes.  
19 Install in the reverse order    
20 Set zero position of headlamps with HHT IMPORTANT See Diagnosis Manual, Body  
21 Check and correct headlamp adjustment   AP82.10-P-8260A 
22 Carry out function check
