Models 129, 202 up to 30.6.93, models 124, 126, 140
After an accident the airbag system and emergency tensioning retractor restraint system should be checked for damage, defects and triggering. Defective or damaged components must be immediately replaced. Repair of these components is not permitted.
The emergency tensioning retractor with airbag control module must be replaced :
- If the housing has been deformed or damaged in any way,
- If the console has been deformed in any way, even if the control module does not appear to have suffered any damage,
- If there is an electrical defect
and
- After an airbag has triggered (flash code 10).
The airbag or emergency tensioning retractor units must be replaced :
- After they have been released,
- If there is any visual damage, even if the unit has not been released
and
- If there is an electrical defect.
Once the driver airbag has triggered, the steering wheel should always be replaced and once the front passenger airbag has triggered, the instrument panel should be replaced.
