Special tool assignment:

Model 129, 140, 163, 170, 202, 203, 208, 209, 210, 215, 220: 

SPECIAL TOOL Extraction tool 202 589 04 43 00

Model 129, 170, 202, 203, 208, 209, 210: 

SPECIAL TOOL Extraction and installation tool 124 589 05 43 00

Model 140, 163, 215, 220: 

SPECIAL TOOL Extraction and installation tool 140 589 08 43 00

Press out jammed rear axle shaft flange 

  1. Press out rear axle shaft flange (10) using SPECIAL TOOL extraction tool parts and a suitable SPECIAL TOOL drift (010x) on a stationary hydraulic press.

    IMPORTANT The diameter of the SPECIAL TOOL drift (010x) must be approx. 2 mm smaller than the rear axle shaft flange diameter (see detail).

  2. Pull in rear-axle shaft flange 

  3. Pull rear axle shaft flange (10) into double-row angular ball bearing (8) using SPECIAL TOOL insertion tool.

    IMPORTANT Ensure that the SPECIAL TOOL pressure plate (small), part 03, abuts the bearing inner race snugly when pulling in (arrow).
