A prespecified procedure exists for checking the taxi emergency call functions! 

The initialization of the various alarm actuations can be varied via control module adaptations.

Background 

Taxi emergency call is available in order to minimize the risk of assault or, following an assault, the consequences for the taxi driver. This is intended to provide the taxi trade with an extended system on the basis of the automatic TELE AID emergency call.

Both systems, the automatic TELE AID emergency call and the taxi emergency call, are based on the same device, the emergency call system (TELE AID, A35/8) control module, and the same operating principle.

As a result of this, this and the following Chapters deal exclusively with the additional and modified taxi emergency call functions.

"Assistance call" triggering 

In assault situations, the taxi emergency call function enables the taxi driver to actuate a silent alarm via a concealed emergency call button.

The dialing procedure occurs silently, neither the ringing nor the call-connected signals can be heard, the telephone display does not change, and the radio volume is not reduced or muted if the radio is switched on (mute function). 

Following the emergency call has been triggered, the telephone is rebooted so that the emergency call system (TELE AID, A35/8) control module is able to assume sole control of the telephone.

Data telegram for vehicle recognition: 

After the taxi driver has actuated the emergency alarm system (S62/6) activate button, the emergency call data generated by the emergency call system (TELE AID, A35/8) control module, together with the vehicle identification and position coordinates (GPS), are transmitted to the emergency call service center via the short message service (SMS).

Coordination in the service center: 

In the emergency call service center, the GPS coordinates are converted into position information, depicted on a geographical road map and supplemented with vehicle-specific data from a database.

Unidirectional voice link: 

The complete emergency call message and the voice link established by the emergency call system (TELE AID, A35/8) control module to the emergency call service center are forwarded directly to the relevant police command center.

The vehicle's hands-free system is additionally activated, so that the police officer dealing with the call is able to listen in to the vehicle.

Tracking 

In contrast to the automatic and manual emergency call, the position message is transmitted every 45 seconds (tracking function) in order to track the vehicle in the case of taxi emergency call.

Termination of the taxi emergency call: 

• Actuation of the taxi emergency warning system cancel button
• At the same time, telephone contact with the emergency call center
• The emergency call center interrupts the D network connection

The following features differ from TELE AID: 

• The emergency alarm system actuation button (S62/6) is additionally installed. This is connected via the special vehicle multifunction control module SVMCM (N26/9) to the emergency call system (TELE AID, A35/8) control module.
• The taxi emergency call can be triggered via the transmitter for emergency alarm (A8/4) radio remote actuation.
• The emergency call system (TELE AID, A35/8) control module is equipped with an extended range of programs.
