Removal and installation of the sun roof - ra77001400100x(0100)

A. Steel sliding/tilting roof, B. Glass sliding/tilting roof Model 140 

Preliminary work:

Headliner on tilting/sliding roof removed (77-050).

  1. Steel tilting/sliding roof
  2. Glass tilting/sliding roof
  1. Steel tilting/sliding roof

    Nuts and bolts (Fig 4) unscrew and remove tilting/sliding roof panel.
    Centering bolt (shop-made) insert into centering hole (Fig 4).
    Angled bracket retainer (Fig 4) fix using special tool, part no. 140 589 04 21 00.
    Interior rear view mirror remove.
    Tilting/sliding roof panel position, loosely install nuts and bolts.
    Tilting/sliding roof panel (Fig 4) pretension up to markings for mounting brackets with special tool, part number 124 589 00 37 00, tighten nuts and bolts, remove special tool and centering bolt.
    Gap on tilting/sliding roof panel check.
    Gap dimension at front =0.15 mm   
    Gap dimension at sides and rear =0.30 mm   
    Continue to reinstall in opposite order.

    Tilting/sliding roof move to raised position.
    Surround (Fig 5) remove.
    IMPORTANT First unhook surround in the corners using plastic wedge, then remove downwards.
    Rubber bellows (Fig 6) detach.
    Nuts (3) unscrew and remove tilting/sliding roof panel.
    Centering pins (shop-made) insert into centering hole (Fig 8).
    Angled bracket retainer (Fig 9) fix using special tool, part no. 140 589 04 21 00.
    Interior rear view mirror install.
    Tilting/sliding roof panel install and attach nuts loosely.
    Tilting/sliding roof panel pretension using special tool (Fig 10), part no. 140 589 00 37 00, tighten nuts, remove special tool and centering pins.
    Gap dimensions  check in the same way as on steel tilting/sliding roof 
    Further installation in opposite order

    Centering bolts (2 each)
