Rear air conditioning, normal operation

Function

In normal operation with the rear air conditioning switched off, the blower (1) sucks recirculated air (A) out of the vehicle passenger compartment. The recirculated air (A) passes through the uncooled evaporator (2). The recirculated air (A) then flows through the unheated heater core (3) and to the air outlets (4 and 6) depending on the position of the air distribution flap (5).

Function

In the cooling mode with the rear air conditioning switched on, the blower (1) sucks recirculated air (A) out of the vehicle passenger compartment. The recirculated air (A) passes through the cooled evaporator (2) and is cooled. The cooled, dried air (B) then flows through the unheated heated core (3) and to the air outlets (4 and 6) depending on the position of the air distribution flap (5).

When the rear air conditioning air distribution slide control is set for cooling the rear footwell, the footwell flaps to the rear footwell are automatically closed on the front automatic air conditioning housing.

The water condensate is drained to the outside through the water condensate drain (7).

Function

In the heating mode with the rear air conditioning switched on, the blower (1) sucks recirculated air (A) out of the vehicle passenger compartment. The recirculated air (A) travels through the cooled evaporator (2) where it is cooled. The cooled dried air (B) then flows through the heated heater core (3) where it is heated up. The heated air (C) then flows to the air outlets (4 and 6) depending on the position of the air distribution flap (5).

The water condensate is drained to the outside through the water condensate drain (7).
