Function
In the manual mode
, the switchover valves for the defroster nozzle flap are actuated in the vacuum block (Y11) when the defroster button (
) on the automatic air conditioning pushbutton control module is pressed.
This releases the vacuum in the vacuum element for the defroster nozzle flap (38) (vacuum not present, opened 100%). The vacuum element for the defroster nozzle flap (38) is opened when vacuum is not present.
This emergency operation feature ensures that the windshield is kept free of fog even when the vacuum system is defective. In the automatic mode , actuation of the vacuum element for the defroster nozzle flap (38) is possible to 80% or 100% depending on the temperature of the heater core.
