Automatic air conditioning (AAC) cooling mode with activated charcoal filter

Function

In the cooling mode with the air conditioning switched on (AUTO BUTTON illuminated) the blower (21) suck fresh air through the fresh air flap (1) or, in the recirculated air mode, air from the passenger compartment through the recirculated air flap (2). The air is purified by the dust filter (20) and then flows through the two activated charcoal filters (22) (activated charcoal filters switched on, LED illuminated) and through the cooled evaporator (23), where it is cooled and dried. Finally, the cooled and dried air flows through the unheated heater core (24) to the air outlets (7, 8, 9 and 10). The cooled and dried air flows through the evaporator (23) directly to the center nozzle (6) through the open center nozzle diverter flap (4).

In this mode, the bypass flap (3) is closed. In the cooling mode the center nozzle blend flap (5), the footwell flap (11) and defroster nozzle (7a) are closed.

At an air outlet temperature of ≤ 18 °C, the defroster nozzle flap (7) closes completely and opens again partially at an air outlet temperature ≥ 25 °C.

When the system switches over from cooling to heating (mode change) all flaps (4, 5, 7 and 11) can be open for a short time. Water condensate is drained to the outside through the water condensate drain (25).
