Removal and installation of the bottom engine compartment paneling - wh6190pkw0000x(6190)

On vehicles with anti-marten system (identification: control unit N26/2) switch off anti-marten system by opening engine hood before removing engine compartment panelling.

Vehicles with anti-marten system

Ignition cable screw off of electrode (arrow), screw on or pull off, reconnect.

Engine compartment panelling remove, install, for this purpose screw out sheet metal screws (arrows), screw in or open quick-release catches (handles perpendicular to driving direction), close (handles in driving direction).

When re-installing observe item 1.

NOTE: The quick-release catches used on some vehicles can be replaced with the standard combination screws, if lost. For this purpose replace clips with sheet metal nuts.

Corrosion protection repair if damaged.

Installing engine compartment panelling Models 124.036, 140

Install engine compartment panelling (1) so that wheelhouse panelling (2) is covered by engine compartment panelling.

Models 124, 201 (except 124.036) Install side parts so that the edges reach over the engine compartment panelling.

Install engine compartment panelling (1) so that the side parts (3) are positioned inside of the engine compartment panelling.
