Function description of the Celette straightening set 440.300 - ra60001400110x(0110)

NOTE: The Celette straightening set for model 140 is available under order no. 440.300/310.

The straightening set is to be mounted on the Celette modular members.

The Car Bench straightening set for model 140 is available under order no. 82410. The following function description applies analogously for the Car Bench straightening angles as well.

  1. Plates are riveted on to the straightening angles. The part number, an arrow as well as an L is visible on the Celette plate. The arrow should always point to the front of the vehicle when correctly installed. The L as well as the part number with odd final digit stands for the left side of the vehicle.

    Various straightening tools have mounting holes with the letters W, V or C. Mount to the modular member using hole pattern W, V (arrow).

  2. For precise installation of the support (1 and 2) screw the auxiliary strip (2) between the supports. This also applies for supports (45 and 46). After installing the supports remove the auxiliary strip.

  3. The mounts (3 and 4), which can be bolted to supports (1 and 2), allow the front cross member to be checked or positioned precisely for repair work or replacement.

  4. Mounts (48 and 49) can be bolted to supports (1 and 2), the radiator support can be fastened for checking or welding in with threaded plate (52) and hex. head bolts M8 x 35.

  5. When the front axle carrier is removed  the front mounting point can be checked or fastened with straightening angle consisting of parts (9, 11 and 55) as well as bolt M14 x 1.5 x 90.

  6. When the front axle carrier is installed  , fasten with parts (9, 11 and 17).
    NOTE: Remove mounting bolt for front axle carrier and replace with locating and spacer bolt (17).

  8. The vehicle can be aligned and fixed near the recess in the front side member as well as the check hole in the side member lower flange with mount (7) as an alternative to basic part (9). Use primarily for repair to rear end.

    NOTE: When attaching the vehicle insert the locating pin (8) into check hole (arrow). Pay attention to obstructing parts such as hoses and lines.

  9. Support (21) with cylindrical mount (23) for checking and locating shock absorber mounting point.

  10. Mount (19) for wishbone mounting point, top. Mount (19) can be bolted to the mounting surface with 4 hex. head bolts M10 x 45 (arrows).

  11. Basic part (13) with cylindrical mount (15) for locating front axle carrier console, rear with front axle carrier removed.  The console can be fastened to the straightening angle with mounting bolt M14 x 1.5 x 220.

  12. Basic part (13) with locating and spacer bolt (16) for locating the front axle carrier console, rear, with front axle carrier installed. Basic part (13) can be mounted to the locating and spacer bolt (16) with bolt M14 x 80.

    NOTE: Remove mounting bolt for front axle carrier including cover plate. Install locating and spacer bolt (16) and tighten against core of rubber mount (arrow).

  13. Basic parts (13, 14) with check plug (18) for checking front axle carrier console, rear, with front axle carrier installed  without removing mounting bolt for front axle carrier.

    The edge (A) on the basic part (13, 14) must be within the tolerance groove (B) of the check plug (18).

  14. Support (27) with basic part (MZ 080) for checking and locating console for transmission cross member.

    Bolt support (27) to holder for transmission cross member with bolts M10 x 45 (arrows) with transmission cross member removed.

    NOTE: Support (26, 27) with basic part (MZ 080) can be used with the transmission cross member removed or installed. When the transmission cross member is removed  position via hole pattern (A); with cross member installed  via hole pattern (e). When the cross member is installed the bolt heads contact the support (26, 27).

  15. Mount (25) locates the body over the holes in the outer side member. The body can be attached to the mount with chain (a) for pulling work.

  16. Mount (29) with check pin (28) for straightening the straightening bench with check holes (K). With this mount (29) the check hole to the left or right of the center of the vehicle can be checked.

  17. Mount (30) for drive shaft bearing console with basic part (MZ 140).

    NOTE: According to the design the position of the drive shaft bearing console is higher on model V 140 (long wheelbase) than on model W 140 (short wheelbase).

  18. Mount (31) locates the body over the rear holes in the outer side member. The straightening forces are taken up by these mounts.

  19. Basic part (33) with cylindrical mount (35) and centering sleeve (36) for locating rear axle mounting point, front.

    Console (c) can be fastened to the straightening angle with mounting bolt M12 X 110.

    Order of use

  21. With rear axle installed
    1. a) Set vehicle on bench, center plate edge (a) in relation to edge of straightening angle.
    2. b) Screw original rear axle mounting bolt through straightening angle and remove.
    3. c) Attach and lock centering sleeve (36).
    4. d) Install mounting bolt M12 X 1.5 X 110 through centering sleeve (36) and tighten.

  22. Basic part (37) with cylindrical mount (40) and centering sleeve (36) for locating rear axle mounting points, rear, with rear axle removed.

  23. Basic part (37) with mounting block (39) and centering sleeve (36) for locating rear axle mounting point with rear axle installed. 
    NOTE: The mounting block (39) must be installed pointing towards the front of the vehicle or crossways to the vehicle depending on the installation position of the cover plate (a).

  24. Basic part (41) with cylindrical mount (43) for checking and locating shock absorber dome with components removed.

  25. The mount (43) is laid out so that vehicles with steel springs or hydropneumatic suspension (HPF) can be checked and located.

  26. The cross member or rear center piece with cross member can be checked and located for rear end repairs with mount (47), which can be bolted to support (45).

  27. Install bolt (58) from inside to outside for checking or replacing cross member (a).

    Position washer (53) between cross member (a) and mount (47).
