Installation Note

Only the complete airbag unit is considered to be a spare part.

After the front passenger's airbag unit has been triggered, the dashboard must also be replaced.

  1. The airbag unit must not be treated with grease, cleaning or similar agents.
  2. The airbag unit must not be exposed to temperatures in excess of 100°C, even temporarily.
  3. The airbag unit is highly sensitive to shocks. If it is dropped from a height in excess of 50 cm onto a hard surface, it may no longer be installed. Instead it should be returned to the Sindelfingen factory in special transport packing.
  4. Before installing the airbag unit, check that the earth cable has been disconnected from the battery, the terminal connected and the key set to position "0".
